Network of Sikh Organisations director Lord Indarjit Singh described Hague’s statement as “smug and condescending”. “It is like saying that I had only a minimal involvement in a massacre or a holocaust.” ………..
Many of the culprits sit in the same House of Lords..

Also Lord Indarjit Singh attended Portcullis House last year in support of Prof Bhullar. He also boycotted many invites from Indian state events..namely in U.S.A & London.
No need for apology to Sikhs, William Hague
Prasun Sonwalkar, Hindustan Times London, February 05, 2014 First Published: 23:42 IST(5/2/2014) | Last Updated: 01:03 IST(6/2/2014) Calls by several MPs that Britain should apologise to Sikhs have been resisted by foreign secretary William Hague on the ground that the advice given by a military adviser before Operation Bluestar did not eventually contribute to loss of life or suffering. Hague’s statement that UK did advise India on Operation Bluestar was followed by a lengthy debate. Thirty-eight MPs including Indian-origin MPs Virendra Sharma and Seema Malhotra participated in the debate. At least six MPs John McDonnell, Pat McFadden, Chris Williamson, Barry Gardiner, Mike Gapes and Adrian Bailey suggested that Britain should apologise to the Sikhs. In a message to the Sikh community here, PM David Cameron said there was “absolutely no” involvement of British government in Operation Bluestar itself, and added: “Around four months before the events, at the request of the Indian Government, a single UK military officer provided some advice. But critically, this advice was not followed, and it was a one-off.”
It’s like that i was involved in a holocaust but my contribution was minimal.
Akal Takhat at GoldenTemple, Amritsar-India, which was attacked and demolished by Indian army in 1984. *
UK FOREIGN SECRETARY CONFIRMS IN PARLIAMENT THAT THE BRITISH MILITARY DID ADVISE INDIA, AHEAD OF THE JUNE 1984 MASSACRE AT SRI HARMANDAR SAHIB * Today in the UK Parliament, during an almost two-hour long debate, the UK Government’s involvement in the planning of the attack thirty years ago on Sri Harmandar Sahib, was clarified. William Hague answered questions on the Cabinet Secretary’s report released today, which looked into the documents from that period and interviewed those that were in the government at the time in question. MP’s from both sides of the house, expressed in no uncertain terms, that the Sikh community to this day are still seeking justice for the thousands of innocents who perished in the deadly attack and the truth about the events that occurred during and in the aftermath – when thousands more were tortured, raped, murdered and ‘disappeared’. Inadequacies in the report were also highlighted by some MP’s, who stated that after reading and digesting it, the Sikh community may feel it has not gone far enough.

1 min video – Margaret Thatcher’s disgust at Sikhs-1984, funeral of Indira Gandhi https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JFWYgNc8s24&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Thatcher expresses her Disgust at UK Sikhs on her way to Indira Gandhi’s funeral!! Must watch and SHARE! Today the Government make a statement on their involvement on 1984 attack in Sri Darbar Sahib! We must be aware of Thatchers real thoughts as she ignored the unfolding Sikh Genocide! ……
Margaret Thatcher, former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and leader of the ruling Conservative party responding to the questions from the press at her departure to the funeral of Mrs Indira Gandhi, the assassinated Prime Minister of India. Whilst replying to the questions posed by the press Mrs Thatcher cements the revelations of recent weeks in which countless Sikh as well as humanitarian bodies have voiced concern at the British SAS involvement in/around Operation Bluestar. This short interview shows clear evidence of ongoing correspondence with the Indian Government. Mrs Thatcher expresses her own sentiments as being synonymous to those of the Indian Government in regards to the ‘disgust’ of the minority community “celebrating” the death of Mrs Gandhi. The interviewer confirms if Lady Thatcher was referring to ‘Sikhs in UK’ to which she responds positively. This is offensive, especially to the British Sikh community who pride their contribution to Britain historically and in the present. The nation is indebted to the sacrifices of Sikhs in both World Wars as well as burdened with the guilt of bringing down the Sikh Empire, stealing its treasures and causing deceit and disunity in the harmonious state of Punjab. In perspective, Mrs Thatchers expression of disgust is totally inappropriate as it is infringing the natural reaction from any persecuted minority; it is like saying the Jews cannot breathe a happy sigh of relief at Hitler’s death, or the Afghan people at the end of the Taliban Regime. Similarly, were the US responses to the death/execution of Saddam/Osama ‘disgusting’? Keep in mind that just 5 months earlier Indira Gandhi had sent in tanks, armoured vehicles and over 50,000 troops to attack and massacre Sikhs at Sri Harimandir Sahib (the Golden Temple). This saw over 5,000 innocent Sikhs butchered in cold blood on the command of Indira Gandhi the great ‘world leader’. Even at the time of this interview, Sikhs were being set on fire and burnt in the streets of Delhi. Sikh women were being mob raped, young children were being hacked to pieces. Nowhere in this interview does the reporter or Thatcher seem bothered by the genocide happening on the streets of Delhi … the same Delhi that Thatcher was flying in to .. the same Delhi in which security for the world leaders had been assured by India. Whilst at the same time it gave the green light for open season on Sikhs and played out genocide. Although we do not hold an opinion on this, it is interesting that Lady Thatcher’s disgust met irony when many groups of people (miners, left wing politicians) celebrated Thatcher’s death across the streets of Great Britain. It is very clear that UK Government did advise Indian Government regarding attack on Golden temple at various times in 1983-84. The least the present UK Government can do is apologize for this role. Both Indra Gandhi and Margaret Thatcher are dead and gone and Indian Government had an agenda to humiliate the Sikhs by that attack at that time and still continues to discriminate against the Sikhs and yes it is true that Sikhs are a divided people BUT Why do British have to be part of this ?
‘…………UK Government needs to apologize for it’s role in the tragedy of 1984.’ But is the apology on British participation in anyway on Operation Blue star sufficient to cool down the Sikhs? they will have to apologize but before that British need to review and public all documents in relevance to it’s role in Operation Bluestar or it’s participation in making any plan against Sikh community.
General KS Brar is a liar. His every statement if full of bundle of lies. He was a General commanding the operation but how could he be having any knowledge what was going on or being planned many months ago (before he was given the orders to attack)? He was just called from Meerut and asked to do the operation a few days ago. He himself has written this.
I am not concerned if British SAS advised in Indian invasion on Golden Temple but surely the truth should always prevail and transparency be made by reviewing all relevant documents truthfully.
In my opinion the British SAS officer too failed, his given advice caused death of thousands of Indian soldiers and innocent pilgrims. This was not any praiseworthy step to be appreciated as how could one man, in his one visit, know about the preparations, their moral, their high spirit, special training to Sikh youths by one ex-general of Indian army and their strategy to fight with mighty Indian army? Both of these nations failed and lost pride in front of handful Sikh youths.
He (Brar) and other commanders of Indian army swept badly in this operation when he faced a stiff resistance by handful Sikh youths. There were only 200-250 who had no army training stopped the advance of mighty Indian army for more then 72 hrs. in tremendous sun in the month of June 1984. They fought fiercefully from their hide outs where there was no electricity and water.
Mark Tully BBC Correspondent interviewed Sant Jarnail Singh ji Bhindrawale on the previous night of attack and asked him, “what would he do when army attacks on Golden temple?” the brave holy saint replied as expected that “He will give a lesson to Indian army which it shall not forget for 1000 years” And mark Tully writes in his book that the man proved his words. Kindly see this picture showing a page description of his book where he disclosed the dead soldiers 15307 and wounded 17897, 43 officers were also killed whereas the number of civilians killed by army was also in thousands but the Sikh youths who stopped the advance of Indian army for 72 hrs were only numbering in 200-250 only. They retaliated consequently for 72 hrs. They had not got any army training, If the youngest among was only 10 years old, the oldest was above 70 years of age. They were given training by a retired Sikh Major General Shubeg Singh who was senior to KS Brar Shubeg singh ji trained Mukti wahini of Bangla Desh (East Pakistan) in 1971 war and he was master in gurilla war tactics. Just see the picture of book by KS Brar;
There is no doubt that Indian army suffered a heavy loss due to Indira Gandhi’s decision to attack on Golden temple. I remember the Military hospital all over northern India were full with wounded soldiers. General K Sunder ji also confirmed the number of high casuality. In a press conference soon after the Operation blue Star on June 6 at Chandigarh, he admitted in a very sad tone that his 20% army is killed in this operation. And that the army had not got such loss in all its previous battles fought with Pakistan. He also paid his homage by his words of appraisal in honor to these Sikh warriors as… “If any army has such brave warriors, it won’t lose any battle.”
He meant to say that the 20% army personals deployed out of total one hundred thousands was killed. It approves the disclosure made by general KS Brar who gave a full account of dead and wounded. It’s very close to that account. These valiant Sikh youths though less in numbers got martyred in this operation but none of them surrendered before army. The total casuality suffered by Indian army was much higher then it suffered during all its three major wars fought twice with Pakistan and once with China.
An analysis on valor of Sikh youths and defeat of Indian army in Operation Bluestar;
The infantry division of Indian army had surrendered before the valiant Sikh youths. The fierce fight which lasted more then 72 hrs had stopped the advance of a mighty and best army in world which had earlier defeated Pakistan and captured its 93000 soldiers, was not able to fight with these handful Sikh youths. The distance from Clock tower entrance to Sri Akal Takhat in complex of Darbar sahib is hardly 200 meters. The Army generals were sure to take over the Akal Takhat within half an hour but this largest army which had already covered up whole of Punjab, couldn’t cover this distance of merely 200 meters for 72 hrs, it marked a question on their valor. It had to face such a heavy resistance. The Indian army could never think of such stiff resistance, it had not thought the handful Sikh youths who were not properly trained shall stop the mighty Indian army.
The Generals of Indian army had forgot that the Sikhs have a charm to get martyrdom since their childhood and they feel proud to offer their heads to their Guru and getting martyred in battlefield. The Sikh youths were fighting those who had invaded with a malicious thought to destroy their holiest shrine, to protect the house of lord and to make it’s sanctity, these Sikh youths had one motto only —- to sacrifice for a good cause, and to get martyred, they practically proved in the battlefield the prophetic prononuncement of Guru Gobind Singh ji that “Chirian to main baaz tudaun, Gidran to main sher banun, Sawa lakh seek laraun, Tbhai Gobind Singh naam kahaun”, means “ only if I can make sparrows fight against hawks, make lions out of jackals, and make one person fight against 1.25 lakh (one hundred twenty five thousand) enemies—only then I deserve to be called Gobind Singh”.
These Sikh youths sacrificed their lives to prove these words whereas the soldiers of Indian army were just obeying the orders of their queen Indira. The Generals of Indian army had deliberately selected the martyrdom day of fifth Guru of Sikh religion to attack Darbar sahib while making strategy because on such day the Sikhs arrives in large numbers to Gurudwara along with their families. The Indian army could use their large gathering of congregation to achieve their mission of capturing Akal Takhat. It could deliver two benefits:- First— by presence of large congregation the army could reach Akal Takhat easily in cover of these innocent Sikhs, if the army opened fire, the chances were of killing of innocent Sikhs from either side, the Sikhs may be from devotees or the followers of Sant Jarnail Singh ji. Indira Gandhi had also issued such orders that whether whole of Amritsar is destroyed but Bhindranwala must not be left alive.
Thus, the Indian army had planned to proceed safely towards Sri Akal Tkhat in cover of innocent devotees and then to attack there like the soldiers proceed in battle fields in the cover of buffalows or other animals to save their lives. The Generals of Indian army too made the same strategy that their soldiers shall capture Sri Akal Takhat within half an hour by getting safe cover of congregation of devotees there because these generals were sure that the Sikh youths shall never fire on their brothers, sisters or the children in congregation but the brave warriors inside the shrine had got Gurilla training from retired Maj. General Shubeg Singh who was expert in such wars. These brave Sikhs finished the first attack in minutes. All those soldiers who were sent inside at periphery of Darbar sahib were killed by indiscriminate firing. The fierce fight to capture Akal Takhat was continued for nearly 72 hrs but when infantry division of Indian army failed to proceed a few meters, than Armored personal carrier vehicles was brought into service to ferry the soldiers safely to Akal Takhat but such an APC vehicle was blown off by a missile.
Now the Generals were sweating as their all strategies were failed. The fight which they imagined to be finished within half an hour had been continued for 72 hrs. and not stopped. Leave the humiliation or defeat, the casuality army suffered was very heavy. The Generals had assured Indira to capture Akal takhat within half an hour but their was no end to it. Therefore the Generals now sent a request to use heavy armor and artillery to attack, than in the wee hors on 6th june, the permission to use tanks was given. As per reports given by Mark Tuli (BBC correspondent) there were only 14 Sikhs in the Akal Takhat at that time but the infantry had been so frustrated and weak that they surrendered. It was not possible for them to continue fight with these last 14 valiant Sikh youths.
Therefore in the end these Generals of Indian army took the decision to use the Tanks to get control on Akal Takhat. They fired 80 shells on Akal Takhat and demolished this highest temporal seat of Sikh religion and blew it off this sacred historical building. All the brave 14 Sikh youths thus martyred. Whole world was stunned on this tyranny. There were tears in eyes of every Sikh but not flowing, dried due to disgust, unbelievable on demolition of Akal Takhat. It seemed as there was no blood in veins of Sikhs. They were just amazed, had no words to condemn. If it had been in their hands, they would have formed their own nation on that day. Sikhs all over the world were very angry upon Indian army, Indira Gandhi and They had fired 80 shells on Akal Takhat and destroyed this highest temporal seat of Sikh religion and blew it off this sacred building. All the brave 14 Sikh youths thus martyred.
The Helicopters and Choppers of Army and Air force were also used to drop the PARATROOPERS FROM THE INDIAN ARMY.
This battle was at PAR WITH THE BATTLE OF CHAMKOR fought under command of 10th Guru Gobind Singh ji with his 40 followers against one million mighty Mogul army of Aurangzeb. Though UK has admitted that it had advised India ahead of the 1984 Operation Bluestar to flush out Sikh militants from the Golden temple and further revealed it’s limited impact. This officer travelled India in February 1984 about three months before the invasion whereas its revealed from the various reports that Indian army was given training at Chakrata hills in Doon valley, 90 kms from Dehra Dun for the last 18 months of the operation.
Therefore visit of SAS officer and his advice might have been used in preparing a more dangerous and diabolical plan to eliminate Sikhs in near future, given code name as OPERATION SHANTI. Then GOC of the Indian Army, S.K. Sinha, who was sacked on the eve of the attack for being critical of it, had criticized the Government’s projection of the attack as “Last resort”; and stated that the attack was in plans 1 year and 6 months prior to the actual day of attack. S. K. Sinha and Mark Tully report that the army had been rehearsing the attack for this time in the replica of GoldenTemple they had built at a secret location near Chakrata Cantonment in the DoonValley. Operation Shanti: Not satisfied with the result of Operation Blue Star, she planned another nefarious operation, on a much larger scale, codenamed Operation Shanti. According to Dr. Sangat Singh, the assassination of Indira Gandhi on 31st October 1984 pre-empted Indira’s Operation Shanti all over India by a week By implementation this plan Indira could keep herself safe from Sikhs and defame them as anti national and clean her image in majority Hindus. Thus she could assure whole India that only she is a patriot and think of prosperity of nation but the Sikhs are traitors and then a large scale holocaust of Sikhs could be organized or the Sikhs would have been cornered by a social boycott appeal. So this Operation Shanti was prepared which included a war against Pakistan.
This plan was to be organized on birth day of founder of Sikh religion Guru Nanak Dev ji which was falling on 8th Nov. in 1984. This plan was a top secret and had been shared with Chief of Army staff General AS Vaidya and some loyal administrative officers other than her loyal cabinet ministers. Though a high level secrecy was maintained to keep it top secret but it was leaked to some high ups in administration and they informed to their close friends to save their families. Indira drew a diabolical plan, named ‘Operation Shanti’, to carry out a general massacre of the Sikhs, of genocidal proportions, around November 8, when the Sikhs would assemble in various Gurdwaras for Guru Nanak’s birthday celebrations.
Please read it at related link (Para-5 at bottom of right column in picture), to genocide of Sikhs in 1984 at this website… http://www.docstoc.com/docs/7558768/1984–Sikhs%E2%80%99-Kristallnacht
October 1984, there was a massive deployment of army at the border and war with Pakistan looked imminent. There was a rumor that the Center had conceived a genocidal intention towards the Sikhs —– the plan was like this: large scale clashes would be raised all along the Punjab border with Pakistan; it would be publicized that the Sikhs had revolted and joined hands with the Pak forces, and then they would be slaughtered and bombed by the Indian army and subjected to loot and massacre all over India. The Sikhs all over Punjab, especially in Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Ferozepur, Kapurthala and Jalandhar districts were to be subjected to massive aerial bombardment, apart from being slaughtered by army and para military forces. The Sikhs all over India were to be subjected to mass scale massacre, loot, arson and incendiarism by lumpen elements organized by Youth Congress(I) activists. Elaborate preparations were made by Youth Congress (I) network all over India; they were to await a coded signal to start mayhem.
The plan was discussed with certain army generals who advised Indira against it. They pointed out that Nazis had used gas chambers to finish off the Jews, but had not been able to do so. And, her plan to finish off the Sikhs in one go would only club her name with that of Hitler. But she was unrelenting.

Historian Rajni kothari also revealed about this proposed massacre of Sikhs all over India. Indira was not receptive. In view of her nefarious Sikh genocidal plan, she paid a sudden visit to Kashmir on October 27, when, however, she got the omen of her imminent death. Back in New Delhi, the following day, Nevertheless, one cannot lightly dismiss what P.C. Alexander, the principal secretary of Indira Gandhi, has written in ‘My Years with Indira Gandhi’. According to him,” she sent for Gen. Vaidya and asked him in my presence about the preparedness of the Indian army in J & K to meet any unexpected outbreak of trouble. General Vaidya assured her that the army was very well prepared for any eventuality and there was no danger of it being taken unaware by the Pakistanis.
After General Vaidya left, she asked me to remain in close contact with Vice-President Venktaraman and apprise him of her concern at the recent developments in Punjab and Kashmir. (Significantly the Sikh President was to be kept out). She said that it would be helpful to keep him fully informed of all the developments and get his views on them. I do not know what prompted her to give me these instructions at that time………” Indira wanted to involve Vice President from that very stage, as he was to be the acting President once Operation Shanti was operative, and the inconvenient Zail Singh was bumped off. How much substance was there in this rumor cannot be stated for sure, but as subsequent events have shown, there was certainly more to it than meets the eye.
It is a pointed to the genocidal intention of a despot in a hurry.
Significantly, Zia ul Haq stated at Indira’s funeral that it was with great difficulty that he had been able to avert a war with India.
His then No. 2, Ghulam Ishaq Khan, after demitting the office of President of Pakistan in July 1993, stated that Indira had planned to attack Pakistan but was shot dead some ten days before the D-Day.
Our sincere thanks to both the valiant martyrs who saved whole Sikh community from defamation by sacrifice of their own lives and saved thousands to be murdered brutally by Indira. Though they had to assassinate a brutal Prime Minister but in the interest of nation and the Sikh community from defamation—- the Sikh community shall always be obliged to the martyrs Beant Singh, Satwant Singh and Kihar Singh ji.
