Why do Hindus celebrate Rakhi festival and the girls tie a thread called Rakhi on arms of their brother?
The Code of Manu states, “In childhood a female must be subject to her father, in youth to her husband, then to her sons; a woman must never be independent. There is no God on earth for a woman than her husband…..She must on the death of her husband allow herself to be burnt alive on the same funeral pyre. That everyone will praise her virtue.”

There is equal status is provided to women in Sikh religion, they are totally depending on themselves, they are daughters of Guru Gobind Singh. Thedre have been many great warriors who fought battles against Mogul tyrants. One Sikh lady Bhag kaur or Maai Bhago was honored by appointed body guard of 10th guru and wasgiven charge of security. Thus Sikh religion do not discriminate on basis of gender. We salute their ladyship and honor them.
